i’m a pc … for now?
my computer might be dead.
i guess it should be - it’s at least 6.5 years old, at my conservative estimate. and for some reason, as of a few weeks ago, it just won’t turn on. i plugged it into every outlet on two different power strips, then tried skipping the power strip altogether and tried different outlets - which all work for different devices, lamps, etc., so no reason it shouldn’t work for the desktop - then changed the power cord, rinse, repeat… no luck. no power whatsoever.
i’m perhaps not the least savvy computer user ever, but i’m not well versed in this at all - i’ve actually never ‘lost’ a computer in this way, so i have no idea how to proceed. it’s a dell, it mayyy have been purchased at a best buy but i’m not even sure… i can still take it to geek squad though, right? and see if they can at least recover my data? is that the best option for me?
and then what?! i was planning on having us save for (probably) a macbook later this year. but now, with no working computer at home, do we take the financial plunge and just buy it, credit card bills be damned?
or do we buy something more financially responsible (another pc)?
or do we just wait?
so am i a pc? or a mac? i’m computer-less and confused. send help.
