happy tears

some really awesome things just happened/are happening/are about to happen and today one of those things actually made me cry (bet you’ll never guess which one).
  • husband opened up his own company! (a coworker told me today that makes me a business owner, too! how neat!! but yea, obviously credit entirely to him. so pumped for him and his new venture.)
  • a very dear friend and his very lovely wife are moving to WITHIN LIKE FIVE MILES OF MY HOUSE THIS COMING MONDAY. pardon the shouting, i’m really excited.
  • harley’s birthday! after much angsty wavering, we made the decision to forgo a big party for her this year. reasons: she won’t know the difference, she’s going to see every single family member in and out (probably to the point of excess) in just a few weeks anyway, and she’s going to get approximately a metric ton of presents between hanukkah, her birthday, and becoming a big sister, even without a big party. but mostly, she’s not going to know the difference, so why stress myself out even more with only a few weeks left to go before life gets REALLY crazy. but anyway, we’ll obviously get the immediate family together to celebrate with her and i’m so excited because she’s starting to get excited about it and we got her a few really special presents.
  • we’re (hopefully?) within a month of baby #2!
  • my office threw me a shower today! some lovely presents, some really yummy cake, and most importantly, some down time with a very thoughtful group of people.
  • found out greg is getting a bonus! definitely helps right about now. (let’s be honest, it always helps, right?) (he’s staying at his job… his new project is, at least for now, just a piece on the side.)
  • have i mentioned that my sister-in-law is pregnant? harley’s first cousin, coming to join us in the middle of may! i’m very excited for them, so even though that’s not new news, let’s throw this in here, too.
and finally…
  • found out just now that my father-in-law is cancer-free!!!! don’t think i mentioned this bit of heavy news at all, but it’s better to share the good news anyway, huh? he underwent nine weeks of radiation treatment for prostate cancer, and today he got word that his psa levels have dropped back to normal! what wonderful news.
