is this totally cheeseball?
whenever i go to someone’s home with a lot of art hanging, it tends to be the first thing i notice, and i usually can’t stop staring.  i very badly want to amass a collection of art in our home, but i am a real commitment-phobe when it comes to picking something out that i hope i’ll love forever (or at least for a long time?).
long ago greg and i ‘decided’ (but have never made it happen) that we’d buy a piece of art each year on our anniversary (so original, i know).  well here we are, five anniversaries down, and the only artwork we’ve purchased together is a pair of sculptures we bought on our honeymoon - which are LOVELY but are currently kind of in hiding (they used to live on the floor of the living room and DUH! you do not leave one-of-a-kind breakable objects anywhere near a toddler).
we’ll be redoing our bedroom soon and for the first time since becoming homeowners we’ll have WALLS (real! actual! walls!) on which to hang some things.  well ok fine, yes our current bedroom has walls, but we live in a cape, and our bedroom has steep dormer ceilings, so there’s no place to hang anything. (here’s an OLD picture of one half of our room, even though the bed is actually now on that wall so everything is kinda flipped.)
so i think i really like this for a bedroom.  unless you tell me it’s horrible, in which case we’re right back where we started.
