(or maybe that’s not something to brag about? oh well.)
first, a brief back story… my parents have a cookie monster shape sorting toy at their house that harley loves. and my dad does awesome voices, so one day he was doing his funny cookie monster voice and he said, “hello harley” in this funny gravelly voice. and she repeats it in her own version of cookie-monster-voice and it’s hysterical.
the other night my MIL delivered a gift she picked up for H at a craft fair recently - a giant hooded elmo towel. so after the bath, we have h all wrapped up in the towel, and we’re playing and asking her all kinds of things. greg says, “what does cookie monster say?” and she does the funny, “hello harley.” and then i said, “what does elmo say?” she kinda looked at me with a blank stare for a few seconds while i thought to myself, hmm i don’t really know that elmo says anything distinct, guess i shouldn’t have asked that… when all of a sudden she yells out, “LA LA LA LA.”
it’s equal parts fascinating and hilarious to see what these little brains soak up.
