house update
not so surprisingly, things are moving a little slower than the GO-GO-GO timeline we might have wanted, to ensure that maybe we had a room to move into before the baby arrives. that’s NOT going to happen.
but since that reality has set in, somehow the stress of when this all gets done isn’t really there, and i can just be excited knowing it’s happening at all and lose hours on pinterest looking at ideas for our new bedroom and bathroom.
so far - we’ve pulled permits from the town, and the contractor & his sub-contractors have filled out what they can; we sent our architect the site survey, photos, and dimensions so he could get started on the plans.
waiting on - completed ‘design & development’ drawings from our architect — the loan application and the completed permit applications are waiting on these before they can be submitted, and then both should take about four weeks to get approved/closed; so it’ll work out well that we’ll be submitting both at the same time.
today - greg’s meeting at the house with our architect (my uncle!) so he can walk through the space in order to finalize the drawings (hopefully by the end of the month, if not sooner).
project timeline - with the hope that we’ll get our loan secured and permits approved around the end of november, the work should be finished around the middle/end of february. taco is due january 15th which will definitely make life a bit hectic for a month, but the whole downstairs should be largely undisturbed so we’ll still have room to sleep/eat/bathe while they’re finishing construction upstairs.
i’m so excited to just see finished plans soon!
